Weird that's been 2568 days for us since the last one but barely a year for most everyone else around us. So our last one was summer of 2012, which they are saying this will be the hottest weather for us since then when we topped 100F several times.
Wonder why everyone around you has had one since. I cant imagine criteria being different there.
Another 0.79" today on top of the 3.90" yesterday. and still raining. Nuts. Going for a 7" month.
Front has stalled over the coast thanks to the sea breeze preventing it from moving south! Cloudy all day. No complaints on that!

.SYNOPSIS...
A weak cold front sags slowly south through the area today,
gradually washing out as it works offshore tonight. High
pressure will then build in for Friday. A warm front will lift
north of the region Friday night. Bermuda high pressure will be
in place over the weekend.
Scattered showers will continue to focus along weak boundary that has become nearly stationary across Long Island. Seabreeze development along south shore has halted the boundary`s southward progress. The best thermal forcing has been to the north of the front, where rainfall rates in excess of half to
three-quarters of an inch an hour across the CT Coast and
portions of NE NJ and the Lower Hudson Valley. Uncertainty
remains in how much the airmass can destabilize this afternoon
should breaks in the overcast develop. This would increase the
potential for isolated severe wet microbursts, with the best
chance being inland.
PW values in excess of 2 inches and weak shear also supports slow moving cells with a localized heavy rainfall. The best
chances for any poor drainage or low lying flooding will be
across northeastern New Jersey, southern portions of the Lower
Hudson Valley, and coastal CT where the heaviest rainfall has
been received the last 24 hours.
Dew point reached 78F in DeKalb today. At 6pm its 91F at IKK with a 75F dew point. MDW is at 88F with a 77F dew point. ORD is at 87F with a 75F dew point.
Heat index tomorrow and Saturday will reach 113F and up to 115F in some areas. Stifling....
Low 90s heat index for us out here in the semi arid desert of California
(Fresno)
Should be breezy, too.
100s come back with a vengeance on sunday. I'm praying they'll be dry 100s.
Stay cool, amigos.
Hartford will feel like 110° Saturday and Sunday. That means Saturday night will be one of those classic suffocating summer nights. Good luck to those without AC, yikes.
