Based on the position of the ridge, you will dry out. Nice storm btw.

Big snows for the Rockys and highlands out west

That ridge over Alaska reminds of the ridge over the Midwest in March 2012, and also February 2017.

Hope this doesnt become the dominant feature for this winter

Wish all this was snow. Over 2 inches now and still raining. More heavier stuff coming next few hours.

Over 13 inches of rain in last 4 weeks. I'm surprised there aren't any sink holes or mudslides.

Including today, IKK has 5 shots at 80F+ over the next 10 days. ORD maybe 3 shots

First half of October will see this amplified west cool, east warm pattern

https://twitter.com/true_weather/sta...20148992704512

and this amplified pattern means serious rain fall total just to the north and west of us

It's funny, its not that hot or humid outside to expect an intensity like that.. We kinda get these anytime of the year but not like that. 5-6 hours of Lightning, Thunder, and multiple embedded torrential rains?

Fronts this year have been slow to move and crashing into the cooler maritime air so I assume that's one effect giving the Boomers and copius amounts of rain.. The other is that there's been extra instability in the area creating extra lift.

These aren't snow totals. Over 15 inches of rain in last 4 weeks in my backyard.
