barely above 50°F on Long Island at noon. With wind, chilly even in the sun. Interesting it hasn't affected the timing of the leaves; September & early October warmth must matter more. Feels like this is the latest foliage season ever.

Mount Rainier was in the 70s two weeks ago. Still not cold enough.

the summit wasn't Camp Muir at 10,000 feet had a high of 26°F, low of 13°F today

Feels like it. A reminder lack of daylight is incorrect to use for foliage. Weather matters!

30.5° outside this morning. Didn't expect that. Wood stove relit. Incredible amount of heat/wood needed for October. Too bad the monthly Avg wont show this. Past 2 weeks will though

All these locations are having the coldest 2nd half of October since 2002..


Hartford (44.8°) 3rd coldest
Bridgeport (49.2°) 8th coldest
NYC (50.1°) 15th coldest
Philly (51.7°) 11th coldest

Latest GFS6z. 6 Events coming up next 2 weeks. Obviously subject to change for the last 3. Not getting into details now. No point. Rain & storms for everyone for this Friday & Saturday except above 4000'.


Meteorologists should catch up on their sleep now if this winter will be active like this.

High yesterday was 56F, low this morning was 39F. Heading for a high of 61F today quite warm, with rain expected for the majority of the day
