Same here! Nice to see not just 1 region getting this or not for couple days only. I should go back to our posts before the 12th to see what we were saying.

NYC temps this month. After the 12th there's only been 3 days where the max temps have been at or above normal. Night & Day from First 12 days. Even the lows have been below normal.

Interesting to see what November and into December brings us.

Like the graphic above shows, HUGE reversal in temps this month after about the first 10 days

Same scenario in my area....warmth of early october is just a distant memory

I figure the month will end up about 2 or 3 degrees below normal with an average high
no better than about 13C / 56F ...a far cry from last year’s much above normal 19C / 67F.

Quick look at the current Jet Stream Upper Height pattern.

Ridging in West keeping them warm.

Storms follow the Jet stream so a pattern like this always introduces coastal storms and when the Sub Tropical Jet (not shown here) merges with the northern Jet then storms blow up as the case with this NorEaster today. (not that strong but there)

Take a look at what the pattern is like early November! Ridge in west continues but the trough is more center of country than in East so guess where the storm track is.

We'll have to see if there's enough cold air for snow in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana during this time if a storm blows up. A lot of times the storms don't blow up until its further north and too late for these states this time of year.

I wonder if there will be severe weather risk for Halloween night.

We're getting into the secondary late fall tornado season.
