She can leave now!!!!LOL..Big flakes to little flakes to rain then back to big flakes here along the central jersey shore.
Same here... wants to switch but cant. Winds over 40mph now. You can feel the power now.
The mid level and surface storm are now stacked over eachother.. 700mb (blue) and Upper Level low (orange) are not yet.. but Close and reason why its strengthening
When an Upper Low catches a Surface storm it's special to watch especially in winter
The wind just blew strong and snowflakes started falling. Pure indication that when the winds mix down to the surface the flakes from above push down as well. Air is cooling down fast now.
Loop last 4hrs. Check out the snow reports. 12-18"!
More importantly look at the rotating bands now in Southern New England! Pivot!
60mph+ Winds in Maryland.
I live in Maryland and have the day off today. I do not want to go outside even though I have things to do. Don't feel like dealing with this.
So far my power went out 4 times but came right back on. It just did it again (I just changed the 3 I had to a 4). It's unreal what I am hearing outside. I just peaked out the window and several tree limbs are blocking the sidewalk of my apartment building.

Stay safe. Keep us posted. On that "windy" note...
A look at the wind gusts the stations are reporting right now. Lots of Pink Barbs (40kts(46mph) and higher). Mt Washington getting 68kt wind gusts.
Seeing 65mph winds over Maryland and now Bridgeport airport just reported 60mph. I'm getting 50mph now from the North

WASHINGTON — Damaging winds with some gusts nearing 80 mph have toppled trees and power lines, leading to major power outages across the D.C. area.
As of about 10 a.m. Friday, more than 200,000 customers in the D.C. area were without power. The strong winds are complicating efforts to restore power. Officials with local power companies say it may take awhile to turn the lights back on.
Earlier Friday, the wild, whipping winds — the strongest winds since Superstorm Sandy in 2012 — spurred all major school systems in the D.C. area to close their doors.
A high wind warning is in effect for the D.C. area until 6 a.m. on Saturday. The National Weather Service warned of sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph, with isolated gusts exceeding 80 mph. The gusty winds are expected to last throughout the day and into the evening Friday.
Edit: That number just jumped to 300,000!

The severe winds toppled trees and power lines, leaving roughly 300,000 were without power as of Friday morning.
Power out at 11am. On generator power and will probably be on generator power for a long time because the workers understandably don't get into the cherry pickers in windy conditions and this wind is expected to last.
So it's me and the house generator until Saturday afternoon? Sunday? 80 gallons of propane on hand.
Intense rain since early this AM. Pretty good wind gusts as well. Lots of flooding. Inland, people still getting around and going to work, but traffic is slow for obvious reasons.
About to head home to my house near the coast...but not too close. Should be ok if the power stays on
