Temps rising overnight as the mega warm airmass moves in:
And then.....
Our low of 60ºF on the 15th was the warmest ever recorded in the month of February, and it looks likely that record will be broken again tomorrow night. And of course the monthly record high of 80ºF is also in jeopardy on Tuesday.
All of Metro Vancouver received at least 2cm. Vancouver airport recorded 1cm last night with 4cm additional this morning for a total of 5cm with the Arctic front.
Shaping up to be the coldest night of the season tonight....temps will dip to around -8C. Under normal circumstances that would be pretty lame (average of 1.6 days below -10C per year) but this has been such a mild winter that you take what you get.

It's only supposed to drop to - 2 or - 3 here, it was downgraded. I knew nothing extreme would happen. It's late February. It's just unpleasantly windy.

Yep, nothing too out of the ordinary. However, we can still get very cold at this time of year. Feb 2011 featured a major late season arctic airmass...produced two subfreezing highs in Vancouver around the 25/26.
