It's in the mid 60s and cloudy here. We may get some rain for the first time in weeks tonight. The next few days look to have highs near normal with lows above normal. November will probably finish around 1F above average.
does this mean higher or lower pressure over Greenland? Should lower pressure at surface, higher aloft.
Havent looked at any maps but a negative NAO means blocking which means High pressure both aloft and surface should be.
3 important things mentioned.. wish I was home to show on a map..

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
350 PM EST Tue Nov 28 2017.
Downsloping west winds will cause temps to rise near 60 degrees
across the NYC Metro area, about 10 degrees above normal. Cooler and
more seasonal temps are on tap Wednesday night as the next high
pressure system moves toward the region in a fast flowing
progressive upper air pattern.
.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Quasi-zonal flow prevails through this time frame, with a couple of
shortwaves that are expected to traverse across the northeast.
Next shortwave passes Sunday. GFS appears to be a strong outlier at
this time with this passing shortwave when compared to ECMWF and
Canadian NH.
Forecast low tonight of 54F. We haven't had a low 40F or above since Nov 18..
I did a double take. Been dropping to 30s for 10 days straight there ? Wow. Interesting. So your max is going slightly above but your lows are staying below normal
Tomorrow. Warm for us. But yeah, we been missing it. Its been more in central U.S past few days.
Btw.. Reason for our below normal November? Pacific Jet... check out the reds from 2016 (faster than normal winds across central Pac) vs 2017 its up by Alaska & Central N. America
