1949 would be a nice analog for this upcoming winter. Coldest Jan on record in modern history in the PNW.
But November 1949 was followed by January 1950. OK it could be fun to have a week of very cold and snowy weather because it would be something different, but anything more than a week would be a disaster because life stops here when there is snow on the ground. The cities and people are not prepared for these conditions.
Warm day today. 55° with a hot sun. I think NYC hit 60°. I'll post the max-min map later.
