Must feel weird. Wonder if it will continue or find a way to reverse rest of winter.

I assume another area of southern Hem is experiencing unusual warmth maybe something that hasnt happened much in recent winters?

Don't know for sure, but I think coastal Peru has been above average too. Lots of sun the past three weeks too

It's been warm here in Esquel. A few days ago the temperature was around 7°C at 7:30 pm.

Today however it was 0°C at the same hour.

Wunderground is currently showing this:

Saturday: 5°C/14°C, cloudy with 2mm showers
Sunday: 6°C/14°C, partly cloudy
Monday: 5°C/14°C, cloudy with 2mm showers
Tuesday: 4°C/12°C, partly cloudy
Wednesday: 1°C/13°C, partly cloudy/possible frost

As already said, July began on a warm note here, although at least it didn't reached the 20s. But today we got back to winter norm. Min of 7.1ºC and the lowest max of the year with 10.8ºC. Cloudy and drizzly day.

This pattern will remain for the next week at least and even in the end the models are flirting with a chance of getting a huge cold blast. Still too early to buy anything, but i cross my fingers.

Could the unusually harsh winter weather in the Southern Hemisphere be a prelude to a hard winter in the Northern Hemisphere for the Northern Hemisphere winter of 2017-2018????

Sounds like we didn't get the unusually harsh winter weather memo here- I think we got the average without any noteworthy winter weather memo, instead.

There is a forecast for widespread freezing rain though, which is a bit unusual - there's generally a brief period of freezing rain here most winters, but I've never seen an actual forecast for it before.
