Many parts of the city are flooded, problems and more problems, always the same thing every year, it is a tropical climate.
Here is a graph showing the rain accumulation for each month, May was crazy, almost the yearly precipitation of London in only 1 month, June already has exceeded the 400mm mark.

Gfs showing 850hpa temperatures lower in Pernambuco than in the southern part of Buenos Aires province in July 4, this cold air mass is supposed to reach the southwestern part of my state, first time in my lifetime that I see this happening.
Min of 6C expected tomorrow morning and Sunday with that horrible icy westerly making it feel much colder. If this does eventuate then it will be the coldest pair (minimums) in 2 years.
Thank goodness it's Friday evening meaning weekend is coming up so I don't have to get up early/venture outside over the next two mornings and a very good weekend to stay indoors too with heaters on at full blast! Also perfect for sleeping in/reading books
Had to unwittingly venture outside to put the trash in the bin and man it's bloody freezing in the wind
At the moment it is 9C but that nasty icy westerly is making it feel like 4C
Canberra is expected to drop to -7C over the next two mornings, I'd rather have that with light winds than the icy coastal & windy westerlies!
Quite a cool month in terms of maximums reaching - in the city - (barely) 20C on three occasions and also more humid than usual though this changed in the last week when nasty icy and dry westerlies started to "rev" up . At least rain/showers and cloudy weather prevailed during the first three weeks so that gives me some comfort
The first week of next month is - according to current models - looking horrendous with continuing icy westerlies blowing
Very lovely wet and cloudy month so far . Makes up for the ghastly sunny and dry conditions experienced last month!
174mm in the city and my area 200mm falling on all but six days month to date with around 100 hours of sun - nice
Second best - of this year that is - after March and nice to have a break from the sun once again
Lovely to see lawns very darkly green once again
YTD rain totals (ending 9am, 23rd) for some eastern suburb sites:
Ob Hill (city): 865mm
Botanic Gardens: 951mm
Dover Heights: 913mm
Randwick (St): 865mm
Southern states - especially those who rely on frontal rain from the west - not faring very well MTD with Adelaide on 2mm, Melbourne 9mm, Canberra 2mm and Hobart 2mm.
Perth was staring at one of its driest June's on record but the downpour of 61mm to 9am put paid to that however still well below average. Perth is not having a lot of luck this "wet" season so far with more sunny, cold and dry weather forecast over the next seven days.
Another bonus of the wet and cloudy conditions is that it hasn't been too cold at nights but this is expected to change with the next four nights expected to drop into single figures - no doubt helped by nasty icy westerlies . I've heard "mutterings" that next month will start off with a ECL - we will see. Hoping for a repeat of the July 1931 event when nearly 325mm (due to an ECL) fell in the space of a week or 1950 when Sydney recorded its wettest July ever with 336mm falling.
Meanwhile in Invercargill, NZ, it has been much drier and "sunnier" than usual. If no major rain falls until the end of this month then it will be the fifth consecutive "dry" month. Regarding sunshine, my brother said it's been much brighter and sunnier than he can remember for June. A quick check shows the MTD total standing at 76 hours at the manual site and EWS 83 hrs. To put this into perspective, the average at the manual (1932 - open) site is 74 hours and EWS (2003 - open) 87 hours and there is another eight days to go...
Wellington is getting pummelled by lovely rain/showers and cold southerlies as I type and also worth noting that Wellington has not recorded a monthly (sun) total over 200 hours since April last year.
Update: Perth city recorded 88mm to 9am 30th; Adelaide city 8mm (apparently the driest June since 1958 when just 6mm fell); Melbourne (Olympic Park) 16mm; Hobart city 6mm and Canberra (Airport) 2mm. Sydney city recorded 174mm (my area 202mm) and Brisbane city 80mm.

Any chance of it reaching your city? Will you drive south to feel the cool air?
Wow. -4 Celsius in Canberra, Australia tonight? Does it snow regularly there?
