The worst thing about this April is that it can't be like this every year (unless we had the same climate as Spain or Western Europe or Argentina, but I digress). Love the early blooms everywhere
Two years ago on this date, BGM had a high of 34F, a monstrous 24F below averege! If this had been an anomaly of +24 as opposed to -24, it would've been a high of 82F
Impressive east west difference today, normally in these situations you expect the west to be warmer but nope. Further east in NC the warmer you are, 60 at my house 58 in Raleigh and near 70 an hour east. Tomorrow that warmth should spread west and we should break 70. Though I doubt it, cold always has to overperform and stay longer than forecast in these situations such though tomorrow should still be warmer. Warming up as we speak and should continue doing so overnight.
Upper Low still over Georgia. 2:30pm and Atlanta struggling past 50s, which is near the normal low. Warmer in Concord, NH then Florida Pan handle.
Impressed to see an ULL that far south late April. The cold pool of air aloft isn't that cold but its not warm either since it is still April. Cloudy, showery/snowy, and cool always under these ULLs. It's one of my favorite atmospheric features.
Record low max for today is 53, high so far at airport is 57 so near extreme. Greensboro has a record low max of 49. High should warm up to around 62 through out the night.
The departures map today looks like the flag of DRC; cold Northwest and the Southeast, warm in the Southwest, the Midwest, and the Northeast
