Very interesting Cambium! The only reason I can think of to consider the calendar date is because of how warm it's been. The ground is very warm. Though I guess substantial accumulation could happen, but it'd be gone quickly.

GFS12z Out to Sea. Too far. And too Fast. Only scattered snow showers around for PA, Maryland. No big storm.
Canadian and Euro update soon. Thread will be put on hold until tonight if neither show a big storm.

GFS has a tendency to do this at mid range. I call it the Mid Range Crisis.

Daytona Beach set a daily record high yesterday for both the max and min at 89/69°F (32/21°C). Currently it's back up to 86F/30C there.

Well the reason to consider the calendar date is that the average highs upstate in late March are in the 40s, so the snow won't last as well as last year. This year will be like a shot of Jack Daniels, whereas last year winter was like trying to chug a bottle of Bacardi

But when talking about the storm itself nobody cares about when its going to melt... wait.... let me rephrase that. LOL.. Talking about the storm itself happening, not how long it lasts. It can be mid winter and not last long. That's besides the "calendar" point. Avg temps are pointless. Heck, temps this week are pointless.

Setup... Setup...Setup.

Day 2 no sun. Can't stand overcast days!
Went running this morning with mist. Had Drizzle all day yesterday. Hate it.

There was smallish (maybe 1/2") hail in my area last night. That was the third time in my life I saw hail. When I woke up, I checked NOWData, and it said RDU had 1.0" of new snow. But later in the day they changed it to a T.

Overcast sucks, if it's gonna be overcast then at least I hope it could rain

Sun angle is a factor now, I know everyone loves to dismiss it but it can make snow accumulation difficult during the daytime.

Clouds finally clearing here, had a pretty nice looking sunset.

Looks like this March could record the lowest absolute max ever. The highest so far was 13.2c on 1st, and there are no days in the forecast above 13c!
