Early leafing trees aren't necessarily a good thing, as a freeze later on in March or early April could kill the blooms. Kind of what happened in 2007, there was a heat wave in late March followed by a near record breaking cold snap in early April, which killed off many blooms.
Yes lol. I know. But the more tender trees are still only budding. We are bound to get a couple more frosts for sure but as long as we don't get any serious freezes we will be fine.
Major forecast bust today. Forecast yesterday said it would be 68 and rainy today, then adjusted to 72 and cloudy this morning only to end up reaching 80 degrees again.

Our forecast was also changed this morning, from thunderstorms to showers. And just now, our forecast for tomorrow has been changed from thunderstorms to showers.
Here i thought the pinks were 5"+. Looked closer...12"+!? Gees. Also looks like the heaviest was NE of where they thought?
Im seeing some crazy flooding pictures and flood staged rivers. In fact looks like more water than Katrina caused.
Now ask those folks if they prefer drought. I always do.
Yeah, it looks like northeast Louisiana around Monroe got hit much harder than was being predicted. On Tuesday, about 7-8 inches was being forecast by the 3 day NWS forecast map for Monroe. It ended up being over 20 inches...
Some pictures of the incredible flooding in that area.

Models tend to underestimate the power of the sun in the south during spring. My 10 day shows upper 80s Mon-Wed, but it wouldn't surprise me if it hit 90 F under the full sun.
Bradford pears are blooming. This heat has put us a good week and a half ahead of schedule I would say. And in spring a week and a half makes a huge difference. 76 now. After this time change highs will be happening later as solar noon was just now. This heat is amazing, March 2012 averaged close to a London July by average high, wonder if this March will be even warmer. This El Nino has released tons of heat that was stored in the ocean, wonder how much of an affect it will have on our average highs. December 2015 I believe added half a degree to the average high in December if I remember correctly when I tried to average it all together. I'll try to see again how much the affect was when I get home.
