Saw a huge hornet today already. Man its crazy how fast season s change here. I'm still mind boggled how places up north were well below zero Fahrenheit a month ago and now are in the 70s and 80s. This is a major changefor march also. We went from the record march in 2012 to 3 back to back cold marches with the coldest being 2014 and now we are having a march that might match 2012.

Today was the first 80 degree high at RDU.
The average first 80 degree day is March 17, so it happening today is not at all unusual.
I was surprised it got so warm because it was mostly cloudy and it usually only hits 80 in March if its sunny.

Oh I thought we hit it yesterday. Must have been other weather stations in Raleigh not rdu. Yeah I was surprised too, cloudy but made it to 80. Although the sun really was never blocked out and most of its effect could still be felt, look no further than me I have turned 2 shades darker after spending a couple hours outside. Next week will be sunny and 80 though so I think we even have a shot at 85??? When is our first 90 degree day on average?

Also, hit 80 degrees for two days in a row at PHL! https://weather.com/weather/monthly/l/PHL:9:US We beat even 2012 by quite a few days for earliest 80 degree reading. Also, looking at the 2 week outlook, still no lows below 41, 40 degrees or so. Amazing

Rainfall totals over the past 5 days.

I didn't get much until Wednesday night. The heaviest storms came thru Thursday morning. Another round of strong storms came thru early this morning. I ended up with 5.54 inches in my rain gauge this week.
