Ah, OK.

The GFS almost always exaggerates the ocean influence. They've predicted highs of 81 F in mid-summer here before.

Though the ocean is a lot colder there than here, so maybe not for you guys.

How rare would that be? Can you get a high around 80F in summer if it's unusually cloudy/rainy?

If it's an all-day rain event then yes, we could have a high in the low 80s (though it's not all that common), but the day in question wasn't forecast as rainy though lol

But Id bet if this warmup does happen it will only be 70s north of Philly. Who knows though. Still too far out
Do you think it'll be a similar set up to the warmth we saw in March? Or is it too far out to say? I was able to reach 78F while Islip only got to 73F, being further inland has its perks, although it is an island at the end of the day.

I've noticed that, it's usually wrong, and occasionally its wayyyy off, but sometimes (mainly in March-April) it does end up being correct. It happened with the last warm up we got. Lol @ at a high of 81 in Miami in the summer, is that even physically possible (outside of a hurricane)?

Way to far. It might be below normal and in 40s instead. It can easily flip past 10 days.

Indeed. With places in the southern half of Virginia/Eastern MD, Baltimore may be 45 in the winter while they are 51, but by this time of year the difference shrinks to be about 2 degrees. NYC, however, seems to maintain a 5 degree difference in average high year-round.

Another thing I've noticed is that spring and autumn are less balanced out here than in NC, so while April's average high is 66 vs 72, the difference in October highs is about 4 degrees.

Now we're all the same.
Earlier this morning it was like:

Philadelphia: 46 (8)
Baltimore: 39 (4)

We really caught up!
This morning Philly isn't warmer (guess yesterday's temp at this time was affected by UHI?), but it's we're both at 6C

The average high predicted for Tuesday is more spread out along the east coast.

Columbia, SC: 31
Raleigh: 28
Richmond: 24
Baltimore: 21
Philadelphia: 19
NYC: 17
Hartford: 15
Boston: 11
