NARR MAP SEQUENCE FOR 06/29/2012/

594. and 850mb temps that day was 25C . I believe that's the all time extreme record for over Atlanta at that level

I don't think I ever saw 600DAM+ around the U.S. It's not even 600 at the equator right now. Northern Africa is 597 right now.

Which goes with what I said.. Don't use the 500mbDAM as specific temps.. Use it to signify an air mass then look at other factors for surface temps. 594 is VERY Hot especially in June and even for the SouthEast

The higher the number, the thicker the atmosphere is with warmth which allows more heating at the surface.

Now, will it happen triple digit temperature this summer? Recent observed date was July 9th, 2014.

This season is successful

Oh good, it's not just me then. Seems very slow to load, and I can't access all of the features.

It was 94 earlier, dropped to 92 with some clouds around (yay!).

Getting to be a very long week though, and it's only Monday. :/

4:30pm update. CT still in the 60s, Eastern MA still in the 50s. NJ still 80s. Now 90s in Virginia feels like 100s

Heat Index close-up. Lots of triple digits out there. Yikes. Dew point 78° on Hatteras NC,

Wow at the 120 F and 122 F heat index in SC, I wonder if its an error?

At 4 PM, it's 87 F with a 73 F dew point here.

You're nutz to complain about a cool July. I'd be in hog heaven if I was in Chicago right now, with all that rain and t-storms.
