For sure, I remember taking a picture of a sign with Washington State slogan "The Evergreen State",
in a blistering hot barren area near the Grand Coulee Dam.

BC has a bit too near Ash.croft

Ash.croft actually falls under an arid climate, surprisingly. Only place in Canada that does.

Semi-arid areas in BC include the South Okanagan, Similkameen, Thompson and Nicola areas

Yep, the high @ PHL seems to have stayed at 77F. Isn't that neat? Hotter in London than in Philadelphia on the 4th on July. Probably hotter than in NYC, too, FWIW.

In contrast, this is how the western part of the state looks like

Yeah def nicer in London today. My friend moved back to London last year and posted a pic today of the Henley regatta. Looked real nice. No worries though, forecast high here tomorrow of 87F and sunny. Extremely difficult for London to have a warmer summer than here. It's yet to happen since our weather records began.

London couldn't even reach 80 until June. One heatwave that lasted for 3 days won't make their summer warmer than yours. Even Seattle and Portland that have been much warmer than London can never have a warmer summer than the northeast. There is no way.
