I ended up being in Florida the sunniest & driest week of summer last year. I guess the dewpoint hitting 25C everyday made up for it, but as you know the main appeal for me is the cloud-to-ground lightning.
I'm going in the middle of July this year. It seems July has seen the most reliable deep tropical moisture in recent years, so fingers crossed for big convection in the afternoons.
They've been very dry so far this June haven't they? Weird..
It's based on GFS outputs, so obviously very volatile.
For what it's worth, here are the Meteo France forecasts from Wednesday on. There's some human expertise behind it. They think that the 40°C readings will only reach central France:

Why? Paris' record high is the same as Atlanta's (40.4°C rounds to 105°F), recorded in July 1947.
Orly airport and plenty of other weather stations in the metro area hit 40°C in 2003. It would get a loooot of luck to reach that temperature again in the next two weeks, but it is within the realm of possibilities. Let's see what happens. Who knows, it could well fail to reach 90°F and for all we know we will be laughing at how gullible us summer enthusiasts were.
Edit: I see that irlinit responded to you both. Oh well. As he mentioned, the last time it hit 100°F was in 2012, and that on August 18 - Orly hit 101°F once and Paris-Montsouris twice that month.
Wild guess Ireland/UK going to get extra wet next week? Using the storm track of the Jet axis. Mostly dry inside the ridge. So France going to have a dry warm spell?
Tightly wound up storm rounding the base of the trough heading to Great Lakes and New England. That is a ton of rain coming Saturday. This on top of the rain tonight. Let it stop. lol
Burlington Vermont making a run for wettest June on record.
This is not tropical and a very Fall looking pattern. We don't usually get storms that blow up like this let alone a trough in summer. We have, but not often.
Summer is over before it even began for the eastern two thirds
