It's all going to depend on what happens at the North Pole. Right now we have a major stratosphere warming event going on. That in turn makes the surface cooler and shoves the Polar Vortex away from the pole. WHERE WILL IT GO>? If it doesn't come near the U.S, I see a normal/warm pattern after April 8th
Sure enough... The Vortex is nowhere near the U.S and apparently models are showing the Eastern warmth next week. Weather is about a marriage, its like a poker game, you need more than 1 card to make things happen. That PV was the main card.
See that ridge popping up in the East? Well, thank the Upper Level Low in the West AND that Polar Vortex which didn't come back around to Southern Canada. Pop.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wouldn't mind getting some wet, muggy air with a thunderstorm or two. It's not that I'm tired of the dry/cold air (or ever will be), but it's been a while since I've seen thunder or lightning, and I honestly prefer it over this boring drizzly weather here right now. It'd be a nice change of pace. Of course, a 20" snowstorm would be better than anything
It's weird seeing a map with the west under below normals temps and above average in the east.
