True, it was hot today, and will be even worse the next week or so.

Because of this heat, I saw a lot of hornets, so many in fact, that I want to rename my city Hornetville. Hornetville, South Carolina!

From March 26th.

Sure enough... The Vortex is nowhere near the U.S and apparently models are showing the Eastern warmth next week. Weather is about a marriage, its like a poker game, you need more than 1 card to make things happen. That PV was the main card.

See that ridge popping up in the East? Well, thank the Upper Level Low in the West AND that Polar Vortex which didn't come back around to Southern Canada. Pop.

Still 9 days away but maybe will lighten "some" moods. GFS18z max temps next Thursday the 16th

Widespread 70s up to Canada and into Southern Maine. 80s sneaking up to Baltimore.

First thunderstorm of the year tonight! Plus being stupidly hot and full of bugs. (Sounds like summer)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wouldn't mind getting some wet, muggy air with a thunderstorm or two. It's not that I'm tired of the dry/cold air (or ever will be), but it's been a while since I've seen thunder or lightning, and I honestly prefer it over this boring drizzly weather here right now. It'd be a nice change of pace. Of course, a 20" snowstorm would be better than anything

It's weird seeing a map with the west under below normals temps and above average in the east.
