Since June 1st Atlanta's dewpoint only 23 times stayed below 70°F. Nuts. That means 48 days had a max dewpoint of 70°F or higher.

Might of only been an hour or 2 a couple days but still.
And this summer has been better than most...lol. You'd probably not do too well in our summers.

I doubt we'll see any more 26-27 C days here this year. all models are indicating cool and unsettled weather for the coming 240h.

Hot one today here. Sun still fighting strong. 5:20pm Temps. Wish I was under those clouds in N & S Carolina and VA

And is Atlanta's "air temp" still cooler than here most of CT??? Come on!

Well I guess that's what you get for living in a "Subtropical climate" lol

Ex-hurricane bertha is whats causing that wind.

Do you know how close that is to the average?

Not sure if that's a sarcastic question or if you're asking. LOL. Not sure but I'm sure close.

BTW... Euro says 80s are done here after tomorrow until next week.

Lots of rain coming and possible Tornados

It's well known that you have access to many more statistics than the average person. Do you expect that I know all of what is and isn't recorded? Well I'm not going to count the days on Wunderground for the last 20 years, sorry if that was a dumb question. I've always thought Atlanta summer was fairly similar to here in terms of humidity (just with a little higher air temperature), but it doesn't require looking up data to know that we've not had 40+ days of 70 dewpoints!

No such thing as dumb question, I honestly didn't know.. They don't keep detailed records on dewpoints for some reason. All we have are maps.. Looks like the mean max DP in Atlanta for July & August is upper 60s. So the 70s they're getting is above normal I guess.

That's why we love our afternoon thunderstorms here - cools us right off to make outside a little more bearable! Today was we had a cloudy morning, but once the sun came out some storms fired up and cooled us right back down. We've had some major storms here for the past few days. Every night since Thursday - many trees toppled down, roofs blown in, and fires started by lightning all over the metro area. Aside from today it's been quite hot as well, with temps in the low 90s and dew points 70+. I love southern summers!

Strange weather today, the dew point was 64 during the afternoon. That's the lowest it's been all summer.
