Oh man, because you people having to sleep through 50 degree weather is a true tragedy.
Is 50 really cold enough for some of you to grab a jacket while inside?
I didn't grab a jacket, but something to wear. I do not wish to talk more about my sleeping patterns.
How many times have I said "This doesn't usually happen in the summer"? (at least in the past 50yrs only) Well, how about again?
Euro says next week a strong low curls around the base of the trough heads into Great Lakes then transfers energy into a coastal storm and heads into Maine...
These senarios better get saved for winter!! Major snowstorm if this was winter except for coast with particular this setup. But because we're in August it's a lot of rain instead.
Looks pretty average for August; 22-25C, mostly sunny with a few thunderstorms/showers.

Once again nothing to write about, though.. wish we could have something hotter or different for once in a while, seems like everywhere in Europe but us gets a lasting proper heatwave each summer in recent years compared to the early 00s/90s
with 50F nights which are actually quite rare in July and August here it is still warm enough inside if the windows are closed..
We're getting 50F nights, but we need to keep them open overnight for the house to cool down. A bit chilly in the morning, but it'll heat up in the day with the sun and 80 ish temperatures. My room is so cold in the morning it makes it harder to get out of bed. Sleeping shirtless and having a fan blast at the highest setting makes it worse.

Continental Europe getting longer and more pronounced heatwaves is totally normal, but in any case, there is no European-wide heatwave. There was never any long-lasting heatwave anywhere in Western Europe (unless you count Western Germany as Western Europe).
