Notice the ridge squeezing north to New England but VERY narrow. That's because a Ridge cant pop north in the Atlantic because of that Ocean Low there. So its a narrow ridge. Canadian low digging a trough down and pin wheeling a front across.
So is that preventing the thunderstorms from reaching us?

Same temperature in Orlando as here at the moment! Dewpoint here: 61°F. Dewpoint there: 64°F. Rest of the week is much hotter there of course. I would pay money to avoid that weather in the summer.

Not preventing... slowing the front down. Usually fronts whip through but it seems like it's taking days to reach us. Instability pop up storms should happen this evening before the actual front comes through. High pressure East of Maine also making it slow to move.

Funny some comments you've been making recently. I thought you LOVED the heat & humidity. Judging by how you hated the cold and couldn't wait for the warmth I'm realizing you don't like it too hot.

I don't mind heat as much when I'm inactive. I was fine sitting at home without A/C most of the time with the steambath conditions we got last July. Most of the time I would say I didn't mind heat & humidity not that I loved (I think I complained about it last summer) But hiking or bicycling high heat and humidity is rather irritating. There are that many outdoor months here as it is, and I like it when it's green out, so part of that lost to subpar weather is no good.

"It's currently hotter & more humid here at Burlington Vermont (87 degrees, 65 dew point) than Orlando, FL (81 degrees, 63 dew point)"

NYC 86°F. Dewpoint 63°

It's nasty out there.

Right now nei is on his bike storm chasing but he doesn't know it..

A line of storms pushing east. Lightning and thunder is embedded with them. VERY GRAY to my northwest!

Too bad you have to drive forever around here to get a good view. Storm chasing is impossible due to traffic, congestion, structures, hills, and trees.
