I used the airport location. I think they were the ones I saw break the record low the other day. Looks like records go back to 1972 there.
Right and before that KC Downtown Airport and downtown itself. the Downtown Airport is still operational, and is significantly warmer than MCI (KC Int'l), although, w/o large topographic variation, this pales to ACY vs Atlantic City, NJ, BWI vs Baltimore or CHS vs Charleston, SC, among many others. I know this is the umpteenth time I've spoken this message, moving the reporting station solely (other than for aviation) to escape UHI is seriously disruptive to a city's climatology.
