No it's the 12-3pm sun angle. The power of it here when you're used to our latitude is unreal. 90 at 7:00 felt fine.

^^

I though London was barely reaching 70F/21C as of late?

Well this looks promising....

Our chief met guy (at least mine) stresses, that these temps are dependent on a cap, and if thunderstorms don't pop that cap, as this is a very muggy moisture filled atmosphere. Gulf Coast origin heat not Southwest origin heat coming....

One model's take on Friday's high temps (with heat indecies pushing 107F/42C) I doubt it....

We have just about been reaching 21/22C the past week but only for an hour or two, normally earlier in the afternoon before dropping again or early evening.. every day has still been above 20C for 2 months now but it looks like that could be threatened soon.. we are paying for our good July, and it seems you are getting rewarded for your poor July

I have calculated that Buxton's average maximum temperature by the end of August will be about 16°C - that is lower than even July 2007, which came in at 16.5°C. It will undoubtedly go down as the worst August possibly in decades. Certainly nearly as bad as 1986. It's simply been dreadfully cold bar one or two days, and unsettled. The next week looks to be the worst yet, with daily highs of only 13°C, and there is a chance we will not even break 16°C in the next two weeks.
