-40F/-40C wind chills tonight, my main weather forecaster Tom Skilling says a low of -17F/-27C by 6AM Tuesday, we may break 0F/-18C by noon tomorrow...
Coldest day since February 1996...high -15F, low -28F. Brrrrr....We've also accumulated more days with highs below 0F than the past four winters put together....
Well, the freeze warnings don't extend into the Koeppen A zone (tropical), but some tropical climates do occasionally get freezes. The key is that summer-like weather resumes in short order and dominates the winter season to such an extent that it's still suited for plant growth (subject to available rainfall of course).
