BRRRRR!!! That looks cold, Warptman!

It was chilly here this morning, but started snowing and throughout the morning eventually warmed up above freezing. It made it kind of nice cause now it's more slushy then anything. Guess the interstate was very slippery and there were several accidents for a few hours this morning. Just biding my time and waiting for another springtime to roll around. Kinda sucks wasting 7 months of the year just waiting for the type of weather you can actually walk outside in or stand it to be outside.

PREDICTABLY -

the forecasts have been downgfraded, a full week of 90's has now been reduced to 3 days above 90 while the rest are freezing sub 75's. Not to worry, everyone else, such as perth and adelaiede has constant 90's and 100's forecastr. Here its just cold fornt after cold front. Classic We are now in month 2 of summer yet we are yet to exceed 95F.

btw another cold melbourne "sumemr" day - maybe about 75 if we're lucky

That's why I was interested in places like Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Bribane,
as they all seem to have more consistant summer weather.

Does Melbourne normally hit 95 F (35 C) at least once every summer?

Toronto doesn't normally get hotter than the low 90's F (32-33 C) most summers.
Toronto normally gets a few summers that never hit 90 F, (32 C) in cooler years that is.

Once in a blue moon, we'll never hit 86 F (30 C) and get way less than 10 days reaching 80 F (27 C) all year.

Christmas morning yesterday in my area of Southern California started off with a violent windstorm out of the east. Dry desert air was blowing over the hilltops at around 30 to 40 mph. Trouble is I live a very short distance west from a large area that burned off about 10 weeks ago. Things are still pretty dry around here, and the ash residue in the hills from the great fire was swept up and rained down into my area. My deck was covered in black ash, everything around was swirling with fine black ash and dust. It even got under the front door and coated the entrance hallway tile near the door. I had to cover my eyes to walk from the house to the garage to drive to a Christmas morning family get together. It was my first (hopefully last) Black Christmas.

Melbourne sounds like it has a climate like other coastal areas that are about the same latitute north or south from the equator that have cold ocean currents offshore. It sounds like the northern California coastal cities or the central coast of Chile. However if you move inland just a short distance, the summer climate is near perfect with warm, dry sunny days and pleasant cool evenings. I would guess that some of Australia's vineyards are inland from Melbourne?
