started off spectacular today, most brilliant sunshine I've seen in a while. And it actually felt warm, I was out in a shirt erven
though the temp was only 57F/13C. If melbourne's winters weren't so disgustingly cloudy, it would be very pleasant even with
the exisiting average temps However, it's getting cloudy now. Naturally

Midday Obs:
scattered stratocumulus

temp: 13ºC / 57F
dewpoint: -2.6ºC / 27F

You are definitely right that life is ever so short and mine is probably nearly up. I moved to Texas from Southern California and have very often regretted doing so. There are pros and cons to both places.

10 P.M. in central Texas:

86 degrees, feels like 89
55% humidity
68 dew point

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you don't like the heat so why would you move to Texas, as if Calif. doesn't get hot enough in the summer? At least it doesn't have Texas humidity and bugs.

Depends on what part area of Southern CA you live in, I don't have AC an it doesn't go above 80 that often where I'm at. Can't really think of a place that has more comfortable summers that coastal Southern CA.

We moved here 30 years ago, following my sister who married a Texan. I was young then and really didn't think about things that may be important. It was just one of those things. No, I don't like the heat and where I lived in California, we didn't have this kind of heat. We never even had A/C out there. Texas is okay; I'm sure I'll never go back to California as it's just not like it was many years ago, but hopefully one day, I'll find a cooler place to live.

You're right; humidity and bugs were never a problem.

I lived in Burbank and although some days it would get hot, it just didn't last long and the nights cooled off nicely. We never had A/C in the almost 30 years I lived out there. Well, I take that back. The first home my husband and I bought after we were married had a window unit in the bedroom, but that was it. The other three homes I lived in the years out there, no A/C whatsoever. I'd die in Texas without it.

Of course where you are in San Diego, it is near perfect.

Yikes, that's quite a difference. Since you're plotting your escape, maybe you will escape to coolness again one day.
