NYC easily- classic fall with lots of sun, some rain, gradually cooling temperatures, and lots of pretty colors to enjoy in Central Park, with all the glamour of Manhatten np right next door.

Moscow for me. NYC is a bit too mild for me for October and Dallas is more like July/August here with that October average.

After a hellishly hot summer, finally we are getting some cooler temps. Dallas is wonderful once fall arrives!

NYC is UNBEATABLE in October. The reasons:
  1. Gorgeous fall colors in central park
  2. Refreshing afternoons
  3. Chilly nights make it great to cuddle up in sweatpants and watch Sunday Night Football
  4. Pumpkin Harvest season & Oktoberfest (lots of good beer for those who drink)
  5. Bright, Crystal clear, and sunny skies.
Moscow would rank a distant second (Russians cant play Football ). Dallas is way too warm and is like late august in NYC.

October is still fairly "green" in NYC, Fall color doesn't really get going here until the tail end of the month or November.

Really. I find that difficult to believe. I live 40 miles southwest of NYC and fall colors usually peak around mid October. By mid November, all the trees in my area are barren. Trees have already started changing colors over here.
