Pearson sunshine hours will probably not be released for June. Environment Canada 06-20-2013: "Last week NavCanada assumed operation at Pearson and they installed their own equipment. The sunshine recorder is still at Pearson, but the new communication system does not provide for the transfer of this information online using their new standard format. We are working towards a solution to be able to continue collecting this information. Hopefully this element will be able to continue being recorded with NavCanada operations."
Edit: Pearson ended up recording 75.3 hours of sunshine in June with 18 days of missing data (DwBS).

Pearson airport ended up recording 75.3 hours of sunshine for June, though that figure does not properly represent the entire month. By the looks of it, NavCanada assumed operations around the 15th.
Is environment canada starting to record sunshine again?
Highest Temp: 85F (same as for May, it's high enough considering the distance to the beach and humidity; the record is 97F)
Average High: 73F (just right, average is 74F)
Average Low: 54F (average is 52F)
Lowest Temp: 41F (there were a couple nights in early June that were a bit on the cold side, record low is 31F)
Highest Daily Min: 69F (getting close to being to warm to cool off the house at night by opening windows)
Lowest Daily Max: 59F (a little cool, again in early June... didn't mind too much though since I wanted a break from the warm weather we got in late May)
Rainiest Day: 37.8mm (June 28)
2nd Rainiest: 23.2mm (June 10)
Days with 5mm+: 8
Days with 1mm+: 12
Days with rain: 14 (avg = 11.7)
Total Precipitation: 121.7mm
So generally not too hot, not too cold, not too dry, and while there was above average precipitation (121.7mm vs 81.3 mm), it mostly just kept things cool. Often it fell in short amounts of time, and if it was raining for a long time, it was usually a light drizzle that wasn't really bothersome. There were a few thunderstorms, but nothing particularly intense/violent in terms of wind or hail or lightning, although I did go for a swim outside on June 28. :P
In summary, a wet but otherwise average June, which is good because it's my favourite month.
Didn't know there was a station at Akaroa. That's pretty good coverage.
There was a site at a homestead at Duvauchelle Bay from 1939-1970s, with sunshine (manual) data included. The electronic instrument was installed in 2009.
As always with many of the readings now electronic, these generally record higher values than manual methods, by big margins in some cases, so some caution is needed. I think in your region the Ashburton and Rangiora readings (electronic) are too high relative to Ch'ch (manual).
A noteworthy gap is from Wanganui to the Ohakea and Foxton area, where there used to be 3 sites. Presumably they will be refreshed in due course.
Im late and dont feel like putting a summary and the stats. It was average in temperatures and precipitation, nothing really interesting happened...
