-Pearson sunshine hours will probably not be released for June. Environment Canada 06-20-2013: "Last week NavCanada assumed operation at Pearson and they installed their own equipment. The sunshine recorder is still at Pearson, but the new communication system does not provide for the transfer of this information online using their new standard format. We are working towards a solution to be able to continue collecting this information. Hopefully this element will be able to continue being recorded with NavCanada operations."
June was slightler cooler than average in the UK making it the 6th consecutive colder than average month.
June was slightly drier than average, and sunshine was average. June was a very boring month with a lack of any temperature variation, and no warm weather at all. June had no interesting weather events such as heavy rain, hail or thunderstorms.
June was the most boring summer month probably since August 2009 but at least that was mild.
June was 0.5°C milder than last June.
As an average of every day's rating out of 10, June 2013's final rating is 2.2 / 10, which is a D-.
Alos noting that the monthly mean for the country as a whole will be slightly up, despite some deficits in the snow-hit areas. The "loony tunes" forecaster is already off-beam of course - he always calls for "cold" winters, and has been wrong for 13 of the last 15 years. Here's part of his spiel:
". Further snow dumps arrive around 27-30 June for the Central Plateau, Southland and Otago.
July
July will be a spectacular month for snow, with reports of road and school closures the subject of daily front page newspaper stories. The sun is furthest from earth in the first week of July, called aphelion, which itself is sufficient to cause a temperature drop. July’s first week brings snow over the south of the NI to about 400 meters, and again to low levels in the east of the SI."
Sounds like the looney lunar man. He sells plenty of his books though. As they say - "There's a sucker born every minute". I even bought one a few years back. Once was enough, although it did have useful stats in the back.
average high ............... 7.4c / 42F (+0.3c)
average low ............... 15.4c / 60F (+1.2c)
You switched your average high and low. Looking at that high, was wondering what happened to Melbourne for a second...
