In the UK the Central England Temperature for June 2013 has been confirmed as 13.6°C - about the same as last June. So despite not being so wet and cloudy this month was disappointingly cool and 0.9°C below the 1981-2010 average.
Not bad, slightly warmer (2°F) than normal, but much wetter than normal. I give it a 7. Fairly similar to last June (temperature-wise), but more humid and twice as wet.
Mean sunshine hours per day: 3.1
Days with less than one hour of sunshine: 12
Certainly an eventful month, although not in a good way. It was the third rainiest June on record with a total of nearly 200 mm! The monthly total was well over triple the average. A three day spell of heavy rain yielded 93 mm and caused widespread flooding.
A much-hyped snowstorm only brought a few flakes -- a degree or two cooler and we would likely been waist deep in it. There were several days during which the temperature hovered just above freezing in the afternoon.
Overall, it was a cold, gloomy, horribly wet, putrid hell of a month. I rate it 2/10 -- it only escapes the lowest possible rating for a couple of warm days at the start of the month and a very brief snowfall.
No idea why my image on the 2nd page has disappeared..
