I didnt use the A/C yesterday night, just used the windows and fans like nei. It was 71 F in my room when I woke up. Tonight is supposed to be even cooler outside . I do have it on during the day however.
I do not have AC at home. When a house is weel conceived it doesn't need AC. You just to close the chutters to keep cool inside when it is too hot.
There is no need to cool a place to 20c. Under 28c there is no need to cool down the temperature. I dislike when in the US you are obliged to put a jacket on your shoulders each time you get indoor.
Agreed though few use shutters here. Some old homes have them, or ones that mimic that style, but I've never seen them used for their purpose. I was in a coffee shop around 12:30 that windows and fans on. Felt like 80°F inside. Then they just turned on the A/C. They're good at not overdoing the air conditioning, maybe only 75°F / 24°C. Occassionaly when it's hot at home and I feel like getting out, I pay it a visit.
A/C becomes annoying as I get more used to warmer summer temperatures and I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt. 70° (21°C) just feels too cold, especially on bare legs.
I'm a cold weather lover but not tolerable being cold inside of building, only outside is what I like! Prefer to wear light clothes always
Set to 75°F at central system while my room is 76.2°F(24.6°F) right now, pretty comfortable
In case you're wondering, my first post on this forum was complaing about air conditioning. That's how I found the weather fourm. A poster mentioned "they" were forcing thermostats for the common folk to be set high while they were in chilly places indoors. I was confused and had to reread the post several times. Doesn't chilly=uncomfortable and A/C thermostat set high = comfort? So the masses were comfortable while the powers that be making themselves unconformtable. Strange.
Usually around 73F.... I'd prefer it higher but since all of our bedrooms are upstairs the extra few degrees cooler setting helps make it feel more comfortable on the top floors.

Also add the fact that you have an infant whose tolerances may be much less.
dont use heater in winter house can get pretty cold in the 60s (try to save energy) usually just wear a sweater in the house. In the summer i set it to 85-90 and it also does well in saving energy. My room mates are fine with that as they dont want a massive bill as well.
I like my place cold. Unfortunately where I live is pretty hot. I like my temps to be around 70-72 when sleeping or lounging around the house. I set it up a few degrees when I go out.
I recently made a thread in the house forum about my AC having trouble keeping my house at 70-72 and one reply said that I want it too cool and that's why it doesn't work. I'd think on a day of 88 degrees in a 800 sq foot house my AC should be capable of keeping the house at 70-72.
Starting to think a window unit might be a better option.
One of the reason I keep warm inside is that my fingers and toes are extremely freezing... even in mid of summer
