Trees here going an anemic yellow on my street. Flowers now dying. Some red leaves to be found on 1 in 100 trees or so. It's so cloudy today that I don't really notice the colours much. Couldn't be bothered to walk to the shops in this cold, too early for this temperature so I went in the car - I needed to take it to the garage anyway. Forecast highs of 20°C this weekend cancelled and replaced with bullcrap 15°C rubbish which will no doubt help the leaves jump the trees.
It has been a while for me since seeing multiple things "starting" to come together for weather of my preference.
NAO forecasted to TANK. Confirming cold air will be diving down and storms will be increasing in the East and winter scenery making its way into Canada. Possible mixing in Toronto. Midwest will be the top story though with the cold
At 8.45am on the 12th we've already had more sun this September than in the whole of June, and it's currently nearly 2C warmer - we also haven't had any rain at all. It seems however cool/wet/dull the summer is these days we can always rely on September - I wonder what we actually have to do these days to get a cool September that doesn't feel more like an extension of summer? Last September to be over 1C below average was in 1994 (roughly similar story for May) and this year isn't going to change that:
Well its freezing here and in Scotland. London may aswell have a different climate.

I would love to experience a below average fall, but I hope we don't pay the price with another mild winter.
Remnants of Tropical storm Leslie pulling through tomorrow. Forecasted 60mph gusts and sustained winds of 30-40mph so not far off a tropical storm.
A question. If it exceeds these winds why is it still called extratropical even if the winds were to reach hurricane force?
Doesn't have the shape (such as an eye) or organization of a tropical storm.
