Buxton isn't London. Going to be well below average here for the foreseeable future.

It actually felt good today, I wasn't cold. It was like 37 F when I left, the sun was out too.

That odd December cold spell must've acclimated me to colder than normal weather, 37 F is usually well below my comfort zone, like in order for me to wear just a T-Shirt and be comfortable it has to be at least 75 F, but the other day I went outside with just a T-Shirt (just for a few minutes though), it was in the upper-40's and cloudy. I wasn't exactly cold but I was far from warm, I wouldn't be able to last more than 10 minutes though.

Me going outside in a t-shirt in January in NYC just sounds crazy.

It's somewhat mild today with a morning no colder than -2C/28F and high around 1C/34C. It's - 0.6C/ 30.9F at 6:00 pm.

I'd appreciate the mildness more if I wasn't sick with a flu/cold, because it still feels chilly to me now.

When we have temperatures like that, I take it as a sign that spring has started.

Forecasting 4-8 inches of snow for tomorrow. Potential for another storm next week, but way too early to make any calls.

Probably got about 4 inches of snow yesterday. More light snow today. Dropped down to 1 F this morning...colder than the lowest low for last winter.

Looks like a major winter weather event will hit the south with cold temperatures, snow, and ice extending from North Texas to South Carolina. Could be a major ice storm in some areas. Here's some forecasts from select cities:

Houston, TX 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 29.77°N and Longitude 95.39°W (Elev. 52 ft)
McAllen, TX 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 26.22°N and Longitude 98.23°W
Dallas, TX 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 32.8°N and Longitude 96.78°W (Elev. 505 ft)
Shreveport, LA 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 32.47°N and Longitude 93.82°W (Elev. 220 ft)
Jackson, MS 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 32.31°N and Longitude 90.2°W
Birmingham, AL 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 33.53°N and Longitude 86.79°W
Atlanta, GA 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 33.76°N and Longitude 84.43°W
Columbia, SC 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 34°N and Longitude 81.05°W
Myrtle Beach, SC7-Day Forecast for Latitude 33.71°N and Longitude 78.9°W

Looks like it'll be a cold rain on the Gulf Coast.

I'm currently 30-50 miles north of Jackson, so there's a forecast of 4-8 inches of snow where I am. (The immediate Jackson area is under a threat of ice covering about 2-4 inches of a snow/sleet mix... good thing I'm not in the city right now!)

This is wonderful. There was a big lull in accumulating snow from 1999-00 to 2007-08, but I've seen it every winter since.

Glad to see the heart of Mississippi will be getting a decent dumping of snow (hopefully). A far cry from the sweltering hell hole it can be during the summer!

Here's a map of all the winter weather alerts in the southeast: Southeast Severe Weather Alerts, Watches, Warnings - weather.com

Looks like it extends pretty far down near the Gulf Coast. It'll be interesting to see how far south the wintry precipitation will go.
