Forgot to mention, but 0F readings are definitely possible at sea level in June, just not in July or August.

Take Cambridge Bay or Taloyoak for instance.

They are also possible in September, for instance at Eureka.

It is also worth mentioning that Oymyakon has reached 1F in late August, though that's at 2500 ft elevation.

Yes, there are many sub-zero readings for June, and way more for September.

And they are possible in August. The August minimum for the Northern Hemisphere at low elevations is -18.4 C / -1.1 F at Kap Morris Jesup, Greenland (elevation 4 m / 13 ft).

But the OP didn't actually specify fahrenheit, the US posters just automatically took it to mean that & most people from other countries took it to mean celcius, plus many people look at the thread title & reply without reading through every post...

Exactly. The latest 0 C in some place like Northern Canada or Alaska wouldn't really mean much lol.

Impressive! I wouldn't have guessed 0 C would be possible there in October.

When the thread was created, there weren't many European posters on here so I didn't really need to specify. But the subsequent posts after makes it obvious what I was referring to....and maybe people should start reading replies before commenting lol.

Well it clearly wasn't obvious from all those that thought it meant sub 0C

Anyway it is a thread several years old & neither fahrenheit or celcius sub-zero's have ever happened here, I was just pointing out why it was confusing

No, that's fair enough.

Ok, what's your latest sub-10 C?

0C isn't significant here either but 0F would be for sure. Church Fenton has fallen that low but I doubt Leeds itself ever has.

From my own PWS records since living here, my latest sub 10C temperature is 8.9C on March 11th 2014

For Luqa Airport it is 8.0C in May 1970...

Never seen sub-zero here. Rarely gets below 20.
