That’s in July right?
I can’t wait that long.
I’m trying to figure out where to go in the next 8 weeks or so.
An all inclusive in the Yucatán seems really nice right about now .

We had a mix of sun and clouds today... Here's a picture of a chicken checking it out. :-)

We had plenty of sun today in Vancouver which was great for a Saturday. I took full advantage knowing that snow is coming. I actually got too hot while paddling so had to peel off some layers. Sun, no wind, and mid 40s can feel hot while exercising even in winter. Reminds me of my skiing days on those blue bird days in the snow.

We seem to be in a once in 4-5 year cold streak across the state. I think this time around snowfall will be light but temps will be below normal. Here in Tri Cities, very cold but so far no snow and none in the forecast.

I think its been primarily bypassing southern WA this season. We haven't seen snow yet. But don't count your chickens too soon. Both Tri Cities and Vancouver have snow forecasted for tomorrow. So far, the forecasters have been backing off once getting this close. But not tomorrow. It looks more likely than not for us finally. Then Monday warms right back up and its gone. So, stay tuned and post snow updates if you got 'em.

We're finally seeing our first hints of snow in Vancouver. Since it's 38 out, we can see some flakes but they are mixed with rain and melt immediately. So, I guess its sleet more than snow. Still, its the first sign of the white stuff we've seen. Not sure if it qualifies as our first real snow. I usually equate that with something that actually sticks to the ground. And now its gone. It kinda reminds me of the rain that never happens in CA with maybe a brief sprinkle here and there.

We ended up with ~ an inch of snow overall since yesterday in Vancouver. Today the temps warmed up and it quickly melted. So, it was minor, just enough to enjoy without being a pain to deal with (i.e. icy roads, shoveling, etc...). I decided to go for a sunrise paddle before it melted. Here are a few shots from this morning.

Where do you guys live?!?

I'm in Mason county and I swear we had at least 15" of snow. And it's still out there. I tried digging my car out this afternoon and I guess I'll be doing that tomorrow as well. Winter just started and I'm already fed to the teeth with it.

I'm in Vancouver, WA which appears to have gotten the least amount of snow along with Tri Cities.

It's that cloudy, chilly, gray upper 30s daytime weather where any steam or smoke forms new clouds under the cloud banket and a little leftover snow lingers along the edges of roads. Paths and decks are icy in places where the old snow was compacted and refroze. It's been dropping into the 20s at night for very hard freezes.
