Got word that the Hyattsville City Council will discuss the new Kiplinger development on 410 on Monday. The developer is FORE and there will be town homes as well built by NVR Homes. The retail portion has been removed. Though on the plans it details retail as "Future." This is not so bad as there is Plenty of retail options within a four square block area near the metro.

There is one caveat on the town homes. NVR is the parent company to Ryan and NVHomes. NVHomes builds upscale luxury homes while Ryan builds more middle of the road affordable homes. See Greenbelt Station. It is not yet determined just which arm of NVR will be building and selling the TH portion.

The presentation of the plans are at the end of the attached agenda.

Two buildings in University Town Center come to the auction block. Auction.com will look to move both 3311 Toledo Road and 6525 Belcrest Road.

3311 Toledo, or Prince George’s Metro Center IV, sports a lease with the Center for Disease Controls. The larger building at 6525, or Metro III, is home to Kaiser Permanente and Washington Hospital, but, at 437,465 square feet, is only about half-leased.

Bidding starts at $2 million each.

Here is a video presentation of the Kiplinger site.

The Jan. 5 Hyattsville City Council meeting also saw a presentation from the attorney and developers involved in the proposed development at the former Kiplinger Editors Press site, which is on East West Highway across from the Mall at Prince Georges.

The first slide is near term (5-10 years). The second slide is more than likely the 20 - 30 year plan.

Very nice. Its funny, in some ways libraries are considered outdated due to the availability of information on the internet. However they are still an essential element for stabilizing a community.
