Nice. More north or higher up you go the better. Such a complicated and active next 7 days I cant even begin to dissect it.

Here's latest discussion from BTV. Gets a little technical but read between the lines. Sounds like warm air moves in Saturday and changes the snow to mix or rain then back to snow Sunday morning. So those totals might be beginning and end, not necessarily snow depth so to speak.

SATURDAY NGT. THIS COMBINED WITH THE WARM NOSE WILL COMPLICATE SNOWFALL AMNTS. EXPECT WARMER AIR TO CHANNEL UP THE VALLEYS ALLOWING FOR RAIN TO MIX. COLD AIR WILL REMAIN OVER THE ADKS AND NRN GREENS INTO MOST OF NEK...ALLOWING FOR 3-6 INCHES OF SNOWFALL.

SUNDAY MORNING...WITH THE REST OF THE PRECIP ON SUNDAY BEING IN THE FORM OF SNOW.

LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...

AS OF 353 PM EST FRIDAY THE EXTENDED PORTION OF THE FORECAST WILL BEGIN AND END WITH QUIET WEATHER WITH A POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT SNOW EVENT IN BETWEEN

Here's a future radar loop from this particular WRF model.

12z = 7am. 00z = 7pm day before.(00zSunday = 7pm Saturday)

White is snow. Looks like it starts Sat afternoon but I see the rain/mix in there early Sunday morning

Back to this conversation... Check out the difference for here tomorrow. The one we like on the left from the NWS office directly showing 4-6" around NYC areas..... the one from the BTV office showing 5-7" for NYC Long Island.

might not be the same as what you saw but in general if 5 or 6 inches fell both maps would be right.

They update constantly anyway so it's not like its locked down.

The snow is going to start on Tuesday evening. They said the morning commute will be a little slick. The snowfall estimates are just that, they are going to have more reliable information within the next day. So far everything that was predicted to hit the area has missed us. As of right now, the estimates are 3-6 inches. The further north, the less snow. Southern Vermont and south of that are going to get hit.

Hadn't snowed for quite some time here, but it is now-I'd guess about 6 inches so far today.

Wish I was in Vermont where snow doesn't change to ice in these types of events.

Current Radar with temps.

I just got 13 inches of snow in 3 days. Piles over 3 feet obstructing views now. More coming Sunday

6 inches fell in 4 hrs this morning then changed to sleet and ice for couple hours so we have a layer of ice on top of the snow while sounds of gutters dripping. Shoveling half foot of water is rough
