Just had a quick question, I am currently in tier 3 of my extension. if Congress does pass the extension and extend everybody, i will just continue to claim as normally right? and any thoughts on if they are gonna pass? cant see them leaving so many of us hanging all at once.. would be anarchy!!

I read today GOP is working on a proposal that would reduce the 99 weeks by about a quarter of a year, or somewhere around 86 week max. They will not vote for it though, if tied to a surtax on the top earners, so its still quite dicey. As of now, nothing is guaranteed beyond the original 26 weeks as of 1/1/12. Just keep watching the news.

KEEP CLAIMING. The current legislation allows you to exhaust into 2012 whatever EUC tier you are collecting as of December 31, 2011. If there is no extension, you would not advance to the next the next tier.

On the other hand, payments for EB, which is a program different than EUC, will end in most states within a week or two of December 31, 2011.

Good Luck. My last EB check was supposed to be on 1/3/12 looks like I won't be getting it. My friend got a letter from Teamsters yesterday saying they were giving him an additional 20 weeks of assistance. His last EB check is next week.

Maybe I'll get a letter today or this week

There is no tier 5 at all, perhaps you are referring to something different, like Fed-Ed, you may or may not get it, each state is different check with the unemployment department in your state.
Oregon will allow what they call EB but a person who is collecting Oregon unemployment but lives out of state will only receive it if the state they are in has a similar program in effect at that time. In my case I would only get the EB if I still lived in Oregon.
