Dang! You DONKEYS have parrots too??? I have four, but they're slow learners (Conures and Cockatoos).
Yes, you dawn-key, I have Alex the white-eyed conure. He's bright green, and he's a friendly bird. He says a few things, likes to mimic sounds such as kissing, the washer (he thinks he's helping), and so on. He's my pal.
Mine think they are "helping" too. I have a sun conure who sneezes whenever anybody sneezes or coughs. She's either helping or being sympathetic - not sure which.
My blue crown conure makes all kinds of kissing sounds, plus a variety of words and phrases, and he sings.
My sulphur crested cockatoo makes sounds and some words and phrases, but mostly she is just really animated with her moves.
Then, we have a cockatiel who is a HUGE talker, whistler, and likes to sing!
All of them are "dancers". When I am practicing dance and have music on, these guys are bustin' moves left and right! I tell them they are the best dancers in the world, and I call my sun conure a "samba queen". I also tell them they are "eagles" when they spread their wings out.
Alex is cool when he's on my shoulder, I take a drink of iced tea, and he leans over and sticks his beak in for a drink as well. Or when he nestles up under my beard (I have one down to my armpits). All you see is a little green tail sticking out, and he is happy.
Hey, J-K-K, the beaks at our house are always in our drinks too. My sun conure likes to get behind my neck and hide in my hair, or if on my shoulder she starts picking at my hair to pull it over to my shoulder so she can "hide" in it. Birds are so funny!
