I hate Howard Stern...while I have watched his tv show a time or two and thought a couple things were funny, I think he's an ass 99.9% of the time...loud, obnoxious, etc. I couldn't tolerate him on the show. At least Simon can actually be kind occasionally. Somehow, I just don't see Stern letting some sad sack down easy, ya know? He'd prolley wanna make the guy/girl take their pants off and toss bologna at their butts! LOL Seen him do it. THAT would take Idol to a whole new level!

Stern actually does have a pretty big soft touch - he's a lot like simon in that he can skew someone with a smile or smirk - it's schtick

he's also a huge music buff and a fan of the show - he also knows his audience and how to deliver

he'd actually be more of an agitator to the fellow judges to get them riled up than aiming at the contestants

Me five
Hubby six

Howard Stern = no watching. And plus, doesn't he bring Robin along w/ him to every job? so that would mean she'd be a judge too I guess. No thanks. They both annoy me.

I agree. I think Stern will be a disaster for AI. My family has been hooked on the show for the last four years, but Howard Stern is not a family-show kind of guy. AI may pick up some new viewers but they will lose us.

Hollywood better be good or I'm done.
last year was so much better.

I wonder if we are seeing the end of the reality tv craze.
seems to have run its course.
then again, so did Lawrence welk, and we still get THAT show in reruns!

From what I've read the AI audience is now skewed toward the older generation. I've already quit the show because Paula left and with Simon leaving and starting the X-factor, I watch that over AI any day.

OMG. If they are even thinking of Howard Stern, they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

What next? Rush and Palin? Give me a break. Actually, I think Simon has really softened up, or should I say I don't hate him nearly as much as I used to, except, I think I heard somewhere that Simon once said if he had seen the early Beatles, he would have told them to lose Ringo.
