Sorry, but the "nasty" part was certainly implied in your previous post. No worries, though.
I stopped watching the Duggars when nausea threatened to overcome me. Just like I stopped watching the Gosselins. Pimping your kids in order to get big bucks from a TV show is still pimping your kids, whether you're doing it to illustrate your religious beliefs or not.
I sometimes suspect that if the Gosselins had come out with the same 'quiverfull" beliefs as the Duggars, some people would be similarly warm and gushy about them.
Maybe if the "balloon boy" Dad confesses that his deeply held religious views made him spend all day Friday putting his family on the various tv shows, to the point where the 6 year old vomited twice on camera, and mom and pops just sat there, we'd be less likely to shout "hoax!" at him.
OK. I got carried away there. But see what I mean about pimping your kids on TV?
lol--Sounds like we are on the same page.
I strongly suspect that Jim Bob and Michelle feel that they are serving a higher purpose/spreading bread upon the waters and that really doesn't sit well with me. If they can read the Bible and come up with justification for their lifestyle, far be it from me to say they can't have a TV show but since 'modesty' is such an issue for them --it would seem they are violating a fundamental belief as well as annoying me.
I heard that Balloon Boy's father/mother may obtain representation from the ACLU and surely religious freedom/freedom to believe in aliens will become a topic of discussion.
I suppose TV can devolve further but to what purpose? I hate TLC--'Baby Story', Mystery Diagnosis, some show featuring people with horrifying deformities --tumors and such and even 'Say Yes to the Dress'--which annoys me for the waste of money and the vanity of the brides and staff.
Clearly--I cannot stop TV from providing this level of communication unless I refuse to watch. Why can't I have some form of televised entertainment--why?
They are all atheists and liberals? Generalize much? And you know this how,or did you just pull this out from where the sun dont shine?
Nine kids is NOT 19, it was not uncommon when I grew up either, so Saint Grandma is not so special. Athiest and Liberals for not liking the Duggars,,,mmmk.
Wow you are really rude. Anyways, a lot of the people that posted in this thread also post on other boards and I've seen them state they are atheists or liberals themselves. Also by many of the statements it's easy to figure out, such as, "raising Conservative voters..GAG". Never said being an Atheist or Liberal was a negative thing either.

that was me! I'll say it again - "gag!" I'm still entitled to my opinion, and my post also included the items on which I agreed with the OP. Where is the OP, BTW?

Sorry, I should have posted a nice, non insulting, non confrontational, post like yours.
[quote] I read 14 pages..so basically the atheists and liberals have a problem w/ these people? So much for not judging, and live and let live, guess that only applies when you approve [quote]

Perhaps not... but it was clear you felt our views are just stereotypical of atheists and liberals, which is very dismissive - like we're just bias so our opinions hold no weight. It was obviously intended as a negative comment in some way, shape or form so I don't know who you think you're kidding by denying it. If you didn't mean it in a negative way, what DID you mean by it? And why would you not also/instead say something like "so basically the religious and conversative people are supporting the Duggars?"
