Could be. It also could be that most CW shows are filmed up in Vancouver, and lots of actors don't want to live in BC for 6-8 months out of every year.

And the issue has been raised regarding whether Tyler Hoechlin's Superman should have a beard.

Supergirl: Why Tyler Hoechlin's Superman Needs to Have a Beard - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com

The thing is, if both Superman and Clark Kent have a beard, I would think that too many people would notice and go, ''Hmmm, you know, Superman and Clark Kent sure do look a lot alike.''

I liked the fact though that in ''Man of Steel,'' Louis knew from the beginning that they are one and the same.

It's no different than a simple pair of glasses being the difference between Clark Kent/Superman and Kara Danvers/Supergirl

There is a difference. The glasses come off when he's Superman, but the beard wouldn't.

This raises the much more important point: How does Superman shave? If he can walk into a burning building or the heart of a volcano and come out unscathed, how can he shave? Does he have Kryptonite razors?
