The budget will be much lower on a CW show, we all know that. They aren't going to get CBS money for season 2, like they did in season 1. That's for sure. Perhaps that is part of the issue with Calista Flockhart?
Could be. It also could be that most CW shows are filmed up in Vancouver, and lots of actors don't want to live in BC for 6-8 months out of every year.
The thing is, if both Superman and Clark Kent have a beard, I would think that too many people would notice and go, ''Hmmm, you know, Superman and Clark Kent sure do look a lot alike.''

It's no different than a simple pair of glasses being the difference between Clark Kent/Superman and Kara Danvers/Supergirl
This raises the much more important point: How does Superman shave? If he can walk into a burning building or the heart of a volcano and come out unscathed, how can he shave? Does he have Kryptonite razors?
