I find the whole idea of this show fascinating but yet, I feel frustrated watching it.
I agree the acting is pretty poor on some of the characters, (the lady cop is top on that list), and I can't understand why no one on the outside is communicating with the people on the inside.
Either way, I will keep watching out of curiosity.
I didn't like the book when it came out and was bitterly disappointed as I adore Stephen King. I also think I was "ruined" for this book due to another series I happen to be reading just before his book came out. (similar storyline, city under a dome) Which was done a bit more realistic and better.
I am hanging in there with this show but am very frustrated with the "problem of the week" and solving them very stupidly as with the single battery payment with the store. Plus they are so reactionary instead of being proactive. As soon as the dome went down, out comes the disaster planning guide that should have been on file with the chief. And if there isn't a disaster planning guide since the town is so small, then they should have sat down and planned out resources and seize them to ensure fair distribution. Seek out the "orphans" and disabled people etc. Not to mention all the other holes in the plot,
I tried to watch it, but it's just so boring to me. I feel like the show isn't going anywhere. It would have been better as a movie, rather than a series.
There is a reason why it is a Summer show instead of a Fall show. Network Summer shows are usually not that good. Although, I THINK that I heard that there will be a Season 2 next Summer. Don't quote me on that though.
Other shows are, on the contrary, usually pretty good - shows on USA, TNT, FX, AMC, etc.
