I'm 19 years old, and I am ready to move far out of dallas, because I want to start a new life. I am going to move out within few months. I have narrowed down the cities, between Austin or Houston.

The most important thing for me is the actual apartment complex. More specifically how insulated the walls are going to be since I am going to be playing guitar alot. I am looking around 570-650 for a studio apartment in those two cities. Will I be able to find an apartment in those cities that have good insulation so I can play reasonably loud?

I think housing is cheap in Houston, but Austin is the live music capitol of Texas. But are there a lot of venues in Houston where I could possibly play once I join a band?

I am a person, so would I fit in Houston well? Im looking to move into a safe area of houston, most likely in a suburb or in the safe side of the city.

How would you compare entertainment between those cities, such as nightlife, things to do.

I am used to Dallas, and I like how they have lots of development with sprawling suburbs yet still have the city within close range.

Also I am probably moving around may, and I would be only working and in the fall I would attend a community college and later transfer to a 4 year university, which could be a different city or not.

you have some stuff to worry about besides the thickness of an apt wall
what type of job are you going to have that will pay for your own single lifestyle--and do you have a clue as to what that single lifestyle might cost--rent/insurance/food/college costs/transportation/clothing/incidentals like entertainment????
