Correct.

Dallas is definitely diverse, but not at Houston's level. Just like Houston isn't at LA or NYC's level.

I feel like someday Houston will have that level of diversity. Will we live to see it? Who knows...

Houston is like a younger version of LA when you really stop to think about it.

It is. The percentages are definitely there, just the overall numbers aren't. Just let Houston grow.

We probably won't never touch NYC, but I see us being up there with LA.

The nightlife in Houston is terrible. The city also lacks any type of charm or identity. It has the worst traffic of any city I have ever been too and can strike at any point during the day.

I personally didn't think downtown was that bad. Of course, I am not one for the clubbing life. lol I really liked the ballet there!!

I am a Texan, living in Houston. I love L.A., lived there for 6 years. I love New York, visited there many, many times. I have never been to Chicago but I plan on going. As a young adult I felt the need to get away, even to Europe for 2 years but I always came back to Houston. As an older adult I began to understand the true essence of Houston. We are not all right wing rednecks and we are a very diversified culture. We may have our Texas Pride and our different points of view but when it is needed, Houstonians dig deep into their hearts and their pocketbooks to help those who need it.

You bet they do--and they are often very, very under-appreciated.

Default Thank you Cathy

Thanks for your post Cathy,

Houston is becoming a huge city, more traffic, less jobs, more gangs, harsh weather etc...
However we somehow maintain our love of life and will fight for the lives of others whether it be human or one of God's other creatures.
