I live in Texas and love it! I am close to everything, restaurants, stores, parks, and entertainment. I wouldn't change it for the world. I understand everyone has their OWN opinion on the "ideal" place, so I am just curious as to what it is about Texas that YOU like.

Well, in my humble opinion, being close to everything can occur in any state and that is definitely not criteria of liking a place for me.

So what are the really true things I like about Texas? I like Autumn weather, fireflies (although there aren't as many as there used to be), Lupine, and Live Oak Trees. Obviously, nature appeals to me, not man-made dwellings.

I guess one can find my choices in many other locations too.

The lower cost of living compared to other places I've lived.

The people seem friendlier than other places I've lived.

It's usually sunny where I've lived in Texas (outside of Dallas).

Good steak.

Hey minniemouse,

I'm so glad you had a safe trip to Texas and back to Milan and that you enjoyed the state so much.

I always remember my drill instructor at Lackland saying "There are only two kinds of people...Texans and wannabe Texans." Unfortunately that was my only Texas experience and to make a long story short things didn't work out and it was a short experience but someday I hope to make Texas my home!

I like the economic opportunities and how large the state is. Plenty of things to explore in the state.

I HATE the slow driving habits.

What is it about Texas that I like? I don't have to worry about who I'd be if there were no Texas.
