Sunday was GREAT! Kudos to all the players. Playing in the rain isn't easy. Putting in the rain isn't easy. When Scott took the lead, his excitement was contagious. And that beautiful putt! Then the play-off. Beautiful golf. And beautiful course, too!
Awesome performance for Scott. Agreed - that was some great golf from both Scott and Cabrera.
Those were some clutch putts by Scott on 18th and 10th. Cabrera had some fantastic shots as well (18th approach, and both birdie tries on the playoff holes).
And we can go all day with the 'what if's'.... Tiger's pin seeker on Friday basically was a 4 shot difference. Had it not hit the pin, it most likely would've been a birdie. But it turned out to be a triple bogey. Add that 4 shots to his five-under... and he's in the playoffs as well.
Then there's Scott's ball that stayed out of Rae's creek tributary... Had that ball gone in and Scott made par or worse, would Cabrera have gone for it from the 2nd cut with a two shot lead?
So back in 2001 CBS got busted for using fake bird sounds at the Masters and during this last masters I couldn't help but think how loud and clear they sound as if they had mic's in the trees for the birds. They did mention on CBS that the people at the Masters have song birds imported just for the masters, dunno sounded a little fake.
As far as the masters, I can normally find a reason to root for one or the other golfer but I really couldn't this time. Good for Scott and Angel it was a great match.

Still waiting to get out on the golf course, bought new clubs this year and it's been 10-20 degrees below normal and raining for what seems 2 straight months now, oh and very windy. Last year I got out in mid March and this year I won't get out until May 1st. Can't wait to try out my Callaway Diablo Edge clubs(2011 GD Hot List Gold) and my Callaway X Hot Hybrid. I am keeping less clubs in my bag going with only what I need setup.

You have an official USGA index? I know with my state, the online portal will track that for you. It's normally $20-$25 a year... probably 20-25 more than your spreadsheet, but at least you'll have an official handicap.
Yes, to me a GHIN is the only number I use to quantify my game at any given time. That and maybe $$ won or lost!
You can track every statistic from GIR to Putts to how many times you scratched your a$$ on the course, but honestly, don't you really know whether your putting or driving accuracy is the problem of the day? Is it really necessary to track # of fairways hit (or missed) to realize you're having problems getting off the tee? I for one know at any given time what parts of my game are going good, or hurting my score.
Stats are for best left for the pro's, or rather the announcers on TV. They help to fill airtime. Personally, I would rather hear Feherty and Faldo argue. Who gives a rats a$$ that when Tiger Woods has 1.2 strokes gained putting, he wins 40% of those tournaments? So I guess what I truly believe is that stats are best left for geeks, and geeks are best left to play golf on Playstation.
If you want to get better at golf, you need to keep stats. When you know you miss the fairway on a dogleg right 90% of the time with your driver, you will know to club down the next time.
If you're consistently missing left, you'll know that you need to either fix your hook/slice or if it is maybe a draw/fade you can diagnose the problem and get better.
