He seemed shocked, upset. I can't remember what he said exactly. He defended himself.

Wait, Chelimo was disqualified for stepping on the line. Not for blocking a runner which is what NBC focused on during his interview.

Now they said he's reinstated & NOT disqualified.

Paul Chelimo get's silver.

What a ride.

One last event tomorrow, the marathon, fitting how they always did this on the last day.

Then see you in four years!

Here we go Galen Rupp.
Marathon is on. And sadly, I'm going to miss the ending.

You can say that again. NBC did an atrocious job of broadcasting the Olympics this time around. I have watched it for decades, and this has been the worst by far, IMO. I'm not even that annoyed by the zillions of commercials, because I skipped those by watching online and on my DVR. I'm talking about all the fluff, which comprised more than previous Olympics. They made it sound like a reality show. "X competitor's journey has been a long road. . . " On and on. And they never stopped talking about Phelps and Biles. They are fantastic, but enough with the unabashed adoration already.

And of course it's very slanted toward US competitors, which is understandable, but the other competitors did an amazing job as well. Where were their interviews after they took gold? There were hardly any of those. And the camera angles were terrible; so much glare it was hard to see a lot of the competitions. Not only that, they cut off a lot of the competitions. I would start my recording to find someone in the middle of their performance. But that might have been my provider's fault; I'm not sure. And the delayed recording of the finals was a ludicrous decision on NBC's part. Even online, the announcers' commentary was very strange. It was either nonstop talk (gymnastics finals) or no commentary at all (gymnastics qualifications). I think I'll pass on watching the Winter Games in 2018, even though I really love it. End of very long rant.

5 miles to go in the marathon with Galen in the top 3!
Rupp looks relaxed. Kipchoge is in the front & doing all the work. Ethiopian in 3rd looks like he's struggle a tad. This could be a nail biter.

It's too bad they can't have the marathon finish on the track stadium as in some previous Olympics.

So there was uproar over the Oscars being all Caucasian but there is no uproar that the U.S. men's basketball team is all AA? Got it.

(For the record I couldn't care less one way or the other, I am just proving a point here.)
