ok, so my appologies, for not posting this one earlier, but IF you are ever in the area, DO NOT miss a chance, to stop @ The Cabaret, in Carthage, SD.....the food tonight was AWESOME!
They also have some very nice displays, of "Into the Wild", both movie as well as ''reality''.

Many small town cafes have reasonably-priced food that tastes good. Also, many people who work there are genuinely friendly. I have been to a number of them and had good experiences.

People from the southwest will know what I am talking about but everybody else will probably just think?????

Is there any place in SD to get tri-tip? There is a small place here in Bakersfield that makes tri-tip that just melts in your mouth.

If we move to Yankton I will miss tri-tip and of course the double doubles at In-N-out.

Here is a link to wiki about tri-tip.

Tri-tip - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When I first moved to CA I had no idea what it was. It is like briskit but it is a MUCH better cut and if done right it is spectacular. Since nobody knows what it is I'll just have to find a butcher that can get it for me. Once you eat tri-tip you never want to go back to eating briskit. We have safety cook outs here and we cook tri-tip on a big smoker for 5-6 hours. We have had people from all over the world visit our plant and when they try the tri-tip they are all amazed. Then again, we once spent $850 in shipping to overnight crawfish for one of our cookouts.

The sound of tri-tip and the like is making mouth water. I love steak and anything meaty. I should look for it at Hy-Vee and learn how to cook it.
